The library is looking for LOCAL TALENT (kid or adult) to read the book, James and the Giant Peach, out loud to kids in the library over four days from May 15th-18th from 4-5pm. We're looking for 16 readers total, to read 15 minutes each, as we split the book up over the four days. If you or someone you know would be perfect for this (great reader, enthusiastic, silly, engaging, loves to perform), just email email@example.com with the reader's name, email address, and which days you are available (though each person just gets one 15-minute slot).
The Bud Werner Library will host a James and the Giant Peach read aloud every day from Monday, May 15 to Thursday, May 18 from 4-5 pm in the Storytime Room. Hand-picked, local talent including teachers, drama students, and actors, will read the book out loud in four parts over four days. Following each reading will be a small snack or craft activity. This program is open to kids and adults of all ages who love to listen to Roald Dahl being read out loud, the way it was intended! This Dahl-some read aloud is to celebrate the upcoming theatrical performance of James and the Giant Peach at Strings Music Festival on Saturday, May 20. We will be giving away a pair of Strings tickets to the performance at each Read Aloud event.
