Following up on our popular March Yin Yoga session (Part ONE), this 65-minute audio practice focuses on Part TWO of Charlotte Saint-Jean's Yin Yoga Class to Release Deep-Set Tension... a practice suitable for all levels of ability and experience. The class uses a selection of simple and effective floor-based held postures that provide a calming, nurturing and meditative practice.
Babies and parents are invited for a special series aimed at enhancing your child’s natural love of language, song, rhythm, rhyme and movement. You and your baby will enjoy singing, dancing, bouncing, clapping, and reciting nursery rhymes. Sometimes we even get to read a book together. This program is free and open to kids and families of all ages, not just babies. No sign-up is necessary.Stay afterwards for bubbles, fun baby toys, and to mingle with other parents.
Children, ages 2 to 5, with a parent or caregiver, are welcome to Little Crafters Storytime every Monday at 10:30 am in the Children’s Storytime Room. Listen to a story and stay for a simple craft based on that book. Free! No registration necessary.
As a courtesy to others and because of the craft activity, please no daycare groups at this storytime. Larger groups are welcome to come to the Tuesday or Wednesday storytimes.
Kids ages four to twelve, with a parent, caregiver or whole family, are welcome to drop-in to Family Crafters every Monday from 4:00 - 5:00 pm in the Children’s Storytime Room. Prepare to get creative (and sometimes, really messy!) with an awesome craft project, hand-picked by Miss Maura. The library provides all of the supplies, just bring your own creativity. Parental supervision is required for kids ages 8 and under, or as needed. No sign-up, just pop on by.
A candid look at a shared sisterhood to help the rising number of homeless women veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, and suffer from PTSD, sexual abuse, and other traumas. By entering into the “Ms. Veteran America” competition, these amazing ladies unexpectedly come full circle in a quest for healing and hope.
