Thursday, Aug. 14 ~ Visit the Mobile Sketchbook Library from 2-6 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 15 ~ Visit the Mobile Sketchbook Library from noon-4 p.m.
From August 13-15, The Sketchbook Project's Mobile Library visits the Bud Werner Memorial Library. The Mobile Library is a traveling library that will go on tour with 4,500 handmade books from artists all over the world – including an estimated 200 Sketchbook submissions from Steamboat. The Mobile Library's stop at the Bud Werner Memorial Library coincides with the Steamboat Springs All Arts Festival, which includes a wide range of special visual and performing arts events throughout the community.
That's right, your Sketchbook...on a road trip.
While the permanent collection of nearly 28,000 (and growing) Sketchbooks lives at the Brooklyn Art Library, each year the Mobile Library hosts a newly curated collection of Sketchbooks that travels to 40+ cities around the continent. Bud Werner Memorial Library will be on the Mobile Library's Central Tour, which includes most of America's Heartland and the Rockies.Check out the official tour poster to see where the 2014 Mobile Sketchbook Library is traveling.
