One Book Steamboat Film Night: To Kill a Mockingbird

A free screening of the 1962 international blockbuster film starring Gregory Peck to kick off the 2015 ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT community reading of Harper Lee's much anticipated new novel, Go Set a Watchman.

The evening will kick off with introductory remarks by a very special surprise guest who will offer firsthand insight and comments about Harper Lee and the controversies surrounding publication of her new book.

See one of America's favorite films shown on the big screen as you start reading Harper Lee's Go Set a Watchman, which features many of the characters from Lee's American classic, To Kill a Mockingbird, some 20 years later.

The 1962 movie ads for To Kill A Mockingbird said, "The most beloved and widely read Pulitzer Prize Winner now comes vividly alive on the screen! If you have read the novel, you will relive every treasured moment...If not, a deeply moving experience awaits you!" The film went on to win three Oscars, including Gregory Peck's award for Best Actor.
