Literary Sojourn Author Study

Literary Sojourn Author Study 2019
June 4, 2019 to August 21, 2019

The Literary Sojourn Author Study is a series of book discussion programs designed to enhance the experience of reading for this year's Literary Sojourn. We begin with Esi Edugyan's, Washington Black, where 12-year-old George, enslaved on a sugar plantation in 1830 Barbados, is forever changed when his master's younger scientific brother arrives.  Jennifer Clements,' Gun Love, tackles homelessness, America's love affair with guns, and the economic despair of folks living on the dark edge of society, while John Burnham Schwartz's new novel, The Red Daughter, introduces us to Svetlana Alliluyeva, Joseph Stalin's daughter, who defected to the United States during the turbulence of the 1960s.

Led by Circulation Services Manager, Michelle Dover, we offer lunchtime and evening discussions. This group is designed to be inclusive, supportive and open to anyone. No need to attend all of the discussions, just choose the ones that interest you. The Library will provide copies for loan of the titles discussed.
