We will discuss the classic survival story and Newbery Honor book, Hatchet, by Gary Paulsen.
After a plane crash, thirteen-year-old Brian spends fifty-four days in the wilderness, learning to survive initially with only the aid of a hatchet given to him by his mother, and learning also to survive his parents' divorce.
About Guys Read: A Father - Son Book Club
Guys Read is a cool, free program that is open to guys ages 8 and older with an older partner like dad, grandpa, friend or teacher. This monthly book discussion group, filled with fun games and activities, meets from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on a Thursday in the Teen Project Room. FREE pizza provided by the Library.
