Come see a 3D printer live, in action, in Library Hall!

3D printing has been a hot topic in the news lately, regarding everything from homemade 3D printed guns to bionic ears. But are you still wondering exactly what 3D printing is all about? And exactly what does a 3D printer look like?

Designer and inventor Bart Dring presents a short talk about 3D printing followed by a demonstration. He plans to print a few skiing and hiking related items, and maybe even do a scan of someone's head to print!

Watch. Wonder. Discuss.
As each 3D print takes as long as half an hour to print, Bart will be available throughout the printing process to answer your questions. He will have print samples on display as well, so you can explore the possibilities in person.

About the printer
Bart will be demonstrating use of the UP! Mini 3D printer. This is a desktop printer that is fully functional and pre-assembled, with a fully enclosed build area.
