Standing Rock North Dakota became one of the most watched places on earth. The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe captured world attention through their peaceful resistance. While many may know the details, Awake, A Dream from Standing Rock, a new film by Josh Fox, James Spione and Myron Dewey, captures the story of Native-led defiance that forever changed how we fight for clean water, our environment and the future of our planet. The new documentary that chronicles the indigenous-led resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival for Earth Day, with free community screenings like this one at the library in the following weeks.
