This a very interesting story with a Chinese folktale style. The main character is a little Chinese girl, named Minli, who lives in a very poor, remote village. Her mother is always complaining about how poor they are, so Minli sets off on a quest of her own to grant her mother's wish to have money. She meets many funny and mystical characters including friendly dragons, green tigers, statue lions, rice-bowl rabbits, and many people just like her. Throughout the story, the people she meets have their own legends and stories, and in the the end all of these mini-stories tie together for a happy ending. I recommend this book to anyone who loves to read fantasy, folktales, and listen to stories. If you do read this, please enjoy!
