Free Wireless Internet
Connecting to the Wireless Internet
Wireless access is free of charge and no passwords are required. Depending upon your location within or outside of the building 3 networks are available. Once you have identified the correct network, simply open a browser window and your computer should automatically conntect to the Internet.
- "Library 1st Floor" is best signal to use on the lower level of the library or outside of the building.
- "Library 2nd Floor" is the strongest signal for working upstairs.
- "Conference Room" is the strongest wireless signal in Library Hall.
Library staff can identify if a network has gone offline but are not trained to configure personal computers to access wireless networks.
Printing From the Wireless Network
The library does not offer wireless printing capabilities or printing from any personal machine.
Safety of the Wireless Internet
There is inherent risk using any public wireless internet connection and the standard advice for mobile users is to install a software Firewall onto your machine and use a high quality anti-virus software with definitions updated daily. With that level of protection public wireless internet is usually safe to use. The Library, however; is not responsible for any data that is acquired by an outside source.
