2008 Summer Reading Program
Look for the "Building Excitement! Building Readers!" brochure in your child's fourth quarter report card packets at the Christian Heritage School, North Routt Community Charter School, Soda Creek and Strawberry Park, K - 4th students only. Brochures are also available at the library and on our website after June 2.
Prizes for Reading
Build your reading skills with reading for fun this summer! Read and earn cool prizes like ice cream, sky-hi balls, and best of all—a brand new book! If you don't get a brochure in your child's report card, pick up the Construction Project Game Flyer at the kid's circulation desk after June 2 and get started!
After June 9 make your plans to start building! Read, or be read to, for 30 minutes, and mark an X through Paint Bucket #1. Continue marking off paint buckets for every 30 minutes you read until you reach the FINISH. Each time you reach to a tool, come to the library to collect a prize. Make sure you pick up your prizes by the last day, July 18. One construction project per summer, please.
Trivia Raffle
Come to the library this summer and test your knowledge of construction and architecture in our daily trivia contest. If you get the answer correct, we’ll enter your name in a raffle for incredible prizes—like milkshakes, rodeo tickets, and mini-golf passes! Five winners drawn every Thursday. All prizes are donated by our generous sponsors listed below.Crafts and Fun Thursdays

Book Pals
Both children and young adults may benefit greatly by taking part in this mentoring program. Children will meet a teen role model who enjoys reading and will be given a chance to improve their reading skills. Reading skills improve every time a child reads: studies show whoever reads most, reads best. Book Pals agree to meet at the library and read together for 40 minutes at least three times between June 9 and July 25.
Fill out a Book Pals Registration Form (pdf) or learn more about Book Pals by downloading
the FAQ flyer (pdf).
More Summer Reading Program Info
Because of construction, the library will not be hosting the annual Teddy Bear Picnic this summer. All family evening entertainment on the lawn has also been cancelled. We look forward to resuming these programs next summer in our new children's outdoor program space.
The library will be closed from the last week of July to mid-August while we move into our new space.
