Genealogy Research Services
Associate Reference Librarian John Major and Reference Assistant Fran Caparelli facilitate the activities of the Bud Werner Memorial Library Genealogy Club. Although John and Fran are not professional genealogists, they have extensive experience assisting people with researching family histories, accessing the library's resources, and keeping up with the latest developments in the field of genealogy.
They can assist you with:
- learning how to access and use the library’s subscription databases
- accessing the records of Salt Lake City’s Family History Center
- discovering and navigating free genealogy web sites
- finding helpful forms and tools to aid your research
- preserving research and organizing collections

Family History Center Requests
In March 2011, the Bud Werner Memorial (BWML) Library became an affiliate of the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. This means that Bud Werner patrons can request microfilmed genealogical records from the Family History library to be viewed at BWML.
Patrons may search the Family History Library Catalog at www.familysearch.org to discover available items and then order desired items online. Each microfilm reel costs $7.50 to borrow temporarily and may be ordered through familysearch.org with a credit card. For more information on how to find and order films, please contact John Major or Fran Caparelli.
