One Book Steamboat: Go Set a Watchman release day!

Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - 12:00am
  • Community-wide

Each year, the Bud Werner Memorial Library presents a community read in Steamboat Springs. We call it ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT and in 2015 we are reading Pulitzer Prize winning author Harper Lee's highly anticipated second novel, Go Set a Watchman

Go Set a Watchman

With books landing in readers’ hands on Tuesday, July 14, after 55-years waiting for the reclusive author to publish again, the arrival of Go Set a Watchman is an historic literary event. This newly discovered novel is the earliest known work from 89-year-old Lee, author of the American classic, To Kill a Mockingbird (Steamboat's 2010 ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT selection). Go Set a Watchman features many of the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird some 20 years later.

The Library will have many extra copies of the novel in our Browse collection to maximize the opportunity for community members to check out and read Go Set a Watchman this summer. Then join our special ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT discussions and events in the fall.

Enjoy the community read, Steamboat!
