Health Perspectives ~ A Place at the Table

Tuesday, October 22, 2013 - 6:30pm to 8:30pm
  • Library Hall

One nation. Underfed. The next chapter on America's food crisis from the people that brought you Food Inc.

50 million Americans - 1 in 4 children - don’t know where their next meal is coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle just to eat. In a riveting journey that will change forever how you think about the hungry, Ultimately, A Place at the Table shows us how hunger poses serious economic, social and cultural implications for our nation, and that it could be solved once and for all, if the American public decides - as they have in the past - that making healthy food available and affordable is in the best interest of us all.

"The Sundance Film Festival is chock full of documentaries this year about the troubles besetting America... but A PLACE AT THE TABLE may rank AMONG THE MOST MOVING in that it tackles a seemingly straightforward, solvable problem: hunger in the United States." - Los Angeles Times
