Dog Talk: Training for the Entire Family
So you have a dog...lucky lucky you! But whose dog is it anyway? It’s the WHOLE family’s dog! Everyone in the family is part of your dog’s life and should be part of the teaching process.
A morning of family dog training advice with the experts.
Join Laura Tyler, Sandra Kruczek and Lisa Mason, co-authors of the "Dog's Eye View" column in the Steamboat Today, as they discuss and show through demos and games, how teaching and training your dog can be a fun-filled family team effort. They will also point out how to observe dogs "speaking" through their body language.
This program is designed for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult family member.
About the speakersWith three distinct backgrounds in dog training, Laura Tyler, Sandra Kruczek and Lisa Mason are the Total Teamwork Training group. Individually they have competed in obedience to high levels of training, competed in a variety of dog sports including canine agility, earned tracking dog titles, shown dogs in the conformation ring, done limited breeding, raised and raced sled dogs, visited schools and other facilities with dogs, rescued, rehabilitated and placed or rescued and kept a variety of dogs, managed a doggie daycare and worked in some capacity in the veterinary field. Together they combine perspectives and backgrounds to find the best way to help families live with their chosen dogs. They have compiled a library of over 300 books, videos, audio training sessions, and multiple seminar notes and their education and training continually grows with participation in ongoing learning opportunities. They have watched and participated as the sport of dog “obedience” has grown and evolved into living with the family pet and training with humane methods.
