Cooks With Books: A Southeast Asian Feast
Join us for a Southeast Asian potluck feast in honor of ONE BOOK STEAMBOAT and the community read of Tim O'Brien's novel The Things They Carried.
O'Brien's award-winning book is set Vietnam, during the war. But this evening is a reminder that Vietnam is much more than a war. Vietnam is a modern country with ancient cultural roots and deep culinary traditions.
Explore the library's cookbook collection offering delectable ideas for dishes from Vietnam and its Southeast Asian neighbors, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and China. Make your favorite dish to share, bring the recipe, and join your literary community for a casual Southeast Asian dinner and conversation.
Please pre-register for this event by phone at 970.367.4917 or online.
