All About Sketchbooking ~ Inspiration & Guided Instruction

Thursday, December 5, 2013 - 6:00pm to 8:00pm
  • Library Hall

Local artist and art educator Keri Searls leads an evening of inspired Sketchbooking.

See what The Sketchbook Project is all about. We will explore ideas, techniques and themes for creatively recording thoughts and experiences with visual images as you delve into creating your individual Sketchbook. These blank pages are not just for drawing…the possibilities are endless.

Keri will share everyday ways of creating art and filling your Sketchbook by the January 15 deadline, including everything from doodling to collaging found objects, to the use of basic office supplies.

The evening will include a short talk, examples, a demonstration of different artistic techniques, and ample time to fill your Sketchbook pages with wonderful thoughts and ideas. There will be emphasis on working on papers outside the Sketchbook to take away fears of “messing-up.”

If you haven't already signed up, Sketchbooks will be available for purchase at the event. There will also be a hands-on display of the Library's bountiful resources to help you spawn new ideas to fill your Sketchbok.
