Jeannie Mobley is a Colorado native, whose interest in colorful local history was forged through many summers hiking, camping, and exploring the state while growing up. She holds degrees in history and anthropology, and currently teaches anthropology in northern Colorado. Katerina’s Wish is her first novel. The original idea for the historical story, set in a southern Colorado mining camp in the early 1900’s, came about in a dream. According to her website, Jeannie says, “In the dream, I was standing on a bridge over a creek, looking down into the water. As I stood there, a fish just under the surface of the water told me to make a wish, and I wished for the farm. That’s where I woke up, and immediately I thought, that would be a great start for a novel!”
