Non-fiction and fiction share equal space on my bookshelf. I gravitate towards historical fiction, or straight-up history. I seek out authors that illuminate social and cultural issues within specific time periods while steering clear of mere timeline accounts. I love being absorbed in the fantasy of fiction, especially stories that speak to the struggles of the human experience. A book like One Hundred Years of Solitude quenches my thirst for both magic and reality within a story. I can’t resist funny authors like David Sedaris and Tina Fey. Whether I’m reading the book on my couch or listening to it in my car, Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris never fails to crack me up.
